My name is Tracy Kearney. I am an Assemblies of God Itinerant US Missionary for Adult and Teen Challenge. I am the East Coast Ready Now Recovery Representative. Ready Now Recovery's vision ~ Every Person impacted by life-controlling issues will have access to recovery through Jesus Christ.
A Story of Hope and Transformation
In 1999, our family was changed forever. My husband Mark passed away from a drug overdose. We had 4 little girls, Kayla was 8, Alexis was 6, Nichole was 4 and Heather was 2. I was 7 months pregnant with my son. I had to raise my 5 children alone.
Throughout our marriage, my husband Mark struggled on and off but was finally able to get sober when he went to Adult and Teen Challenge. Mark was a great husband, and father and had a very good job. After Teen Challenge Mark was able to stay clean for a few years and was even an usher at our church. But the challenge of addiction was still real. He didn't have the tools he needed when he got home. So he succumbed to the addiction that ultimately took his life and changed ours forever.
Because of my life experiences, I can understand the pain and difficulties of those struggling with addiction. That is why I am dedicated to helping people change their lives so their families do not have to go through what we went through.

My Mission
As the Northeast and Southeast Representative, my primary responsibility is to spearhead the launch of the Ready Now ministry within churches throughout these regions. This initiative is not just about starting programs; it involves a comprehensive approach that includes conducting engaging community presentations designed to raise awareness about critical issues our society faces. I will also be training facilitators who are passionate about making a difference, equipping them with the necessary skills and tools to lead their respective groups effectively. Furthermore, I will assist these groups in connecting with vital resources tailored to their immediate communities, ensuring that support is accessible and impactful.
The scope of this undertaking is vast, stretching across the entire East Coast and covering 14 states, with a remarkable total of 2,165 miles. Within this area, there are 15 major cities and 1,833 Assemblies of God churches, each offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
The urgency of this mission is underscored by alarming statistics from 2023:

Every day in the United States, an average of 37 people lose their lives in car crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver.

This translates to a tragic death occurring every 39 minutes.

Furthermore, with 136 people dying from drug overdoses daily, 131 individuals taking their own lives—equating to one suicide every 11 minutes
It's clear that our communities are in crisis. By participating in and supporting the Ready Now ministry, we can collectively address these pressing issues and foster healing and hope in our neighborhoods. Now is the time to act, and together, we can create lasting change.

Given the vast geographical area we aim to reach and the compelling statistics that underscore our mission, I recognize that this journey cannot be undertaken alone. The Assemblies of God Missions department requires us to raise our budget before we can actively serve in this vital field. My passion lies in reaching these underserved communities and empowering individuals to establish a legacy of freedom for their families.
